Treatment
Our treatment process is highly structured: We find the right braces for you following an extensive consultation and modern diagnostics. We guide you step by step through your treatment, the retention phase and the conclusion – for a stable and healthy long term result.
FROM YOUR FIRST CONSULTATION TO A BRIGHT SMILE
„I employ a holistic approach towards orthodontics. This means that for each individual case I take into consideration the interaction of teeth and jaws with the temporo-mandibular joint, the airways, the patient‘s posture, the position of the tongue, as well as the harmony of facial features.“
Our treatment process
We get to know you during an extensive first consultation. We analyse your specific situation and find therapeutic possibilities that match your needs – transparent, understandable and specific to your case.
During diagnostics we scan your jaws, take pictures and X-rays and perform functional diagnostics of the temporo-mandibular joint. We rely on digital scans of the jaw. Thus plastic imprints that can cause a gag reflex are not necessary. Our digital X-ray causes significantly lower exposure to X-rays as compared to standard techniques.
Together we discuss which type of appliance is best suited for you or your child. We talk about the cost and, in some cases, which documents need to be handed over to your health insurance provider. We can start your treatment once it is approved by your health insurance.
We fit you or your child with your new appliance. We explain how to use your appliance, how to keep it clean and how to handle oral hygiene. In case of removable appliances, check-up appointments should be scheduled every six weeks. In case of fixed braces, check-ups should be scheduled every two to four weeks. In case of clear aligners, check-up intervals are scheduled individually, depending on your specific treatment concept.
We remove all appliances and associated fixtures after your treatment is complete. We scan your jaws again and fit you with an individual retainer. Different types of retainer are, for example, removable retainer appliances, clear plastic trays fitted to your teeth, or fixed retainers. Check-up appointments are scheduled at greater intervals during the retention phase. The goal is to preserve the end-result in the long term.
